Caution!

The following assessment findings commonly occur in patients with respiratory alkalosis:

• anxiety
• diaphoresis
• dyspnea (increased respiratory rate and depth)
• ECG changes
• hyperreflexia
• paresthesia
• restlessness
• tachycardia
• tetany.
