Adult Dosing

Herpes labialis

• Apply 5% cream 5 times/day x 4 days starting at symptom onset

Genital herpes

• Apply 0.5 inch ribbon of 5% ointment 6 times/day x 7 days starting at symptom onset

Mucocutaneous herpes, immunocompromised patients

• Apply 0.5 inch ribbon of 5% ointment 6 times/day x 7 days starting at symptom onset

Pediatric Dosing

• Note: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients <12 years of age have not been established
