Sx: Submaxillary gland swelling; occasionally IUD-associated PID (Jama 1982;247:1149); gastroenteritis

Lab:

Bact: Anaerobe; gram-positive branching forms

Path: "Sulfur" granules in affected tissues

Treatment

Rx:Penicillin po, or tetracycline, or streptomycin, or clindamycin; typically not less than 6 weeks’ duration
