• Do not use nystatin (topical) for the treatment of systemic, oral, intravaginal or ophthalmic infections
• Discontinue the treatment if any sign of hypersensitivity occurs and provide appropriate measures
• Nystatin (topical) should only be prescribed to treat fungal infections caused by candida species as it has no activity against other fungal species. Confirm the diagnosis by KOH smears, culture or other diagnostic methods
• Moist lesions are best treated with the topical dusting powder. For fungal infection of the feet caused by candida species, the powder should be dusted on the feet, as well as in the foot wear.

Breastfeeding: Acceptable for use in nursing mothers, including topical application to the nipples. Only water-miscible cream products should be applied to the breast as ointments may expose the infant to high levels of mineral paraffins.
