Answer

Answer: A."Antiplatelet drugs are commonly prescribed to help prevent strokes. However, taking this drug can increase the patient’s risk for bleeding. Whenever a patient taking these drugs is scheduled for surgery or major dental procedures, the drug should be discontinued for 10-14 days prior to procedure. If the nurse determines the patient has not stopped taking the drug prior to the procedure, it would be a priority to notify the surgeon."
