AUDIT (Alcohol Use Disoders Identification Test)

The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (Interview Version) requires the interviewer to read the questions as written and offer the interviewee the possible choices.

This screening test was developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and examines risky or hazardous alcohol use, dependence symptoms and high risk or harmful alcohol use.

Begin the AUDIT interview by saying "Now I am going to ask you some questions about your use of alcoholic beverages during this past year."

For quantification, drink should be recorded in terms of "standard drinks."
