- Rare occasion of fatalities have occurred that include Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, fulminant hepatic necrosis, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, and other blood dyscrasias
- Sensitization may recur on re-administration of the drug irrespective of the route of administration; discontinue the treatment if such reactions occur
- Patients with acute angle-closure glaucoma may require therapeutic interventions along with ocular hypotensive agents
- Not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment
- Local ocular adverse effects, primarily conjunctivitis and lid reactions may occur, which resolve upon discontinuation of therapy; evaluate patients before restarting the therapy
- Bacterial keratitis may result with the use of multiple-dose containers, which may be contaminated by patients having concurrent corneal disease or a disruption of the ocular epithelial surface
- Choroidal detachment may be caused with administration of the drug after filtration procedure

- Patients with low endothelial cell counts
- Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides
Supplemental Patient Information
- Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye or surrounding area
- If more than one ophthalmic drug is used, administer the drugs at least 10 minutes apart
- Remove contact lenses prior to administration of the drug and reinsert 15 minutes after instillation
- Advise patients to promptly seek their physicians advice regarding the continued use of multi-dose container if they develop an intercurrent ocular condition or have ocular surgery

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown; is unlikely to adversely affect the breastfed infant. To substantially diminish the amount of drug reaching the breastmilk, place pressure over the tear duct by the corner of the eye for 1 minute or more and remove the excess solution with an absorbent tissue.
