• Prostaglandins analogues may cause pigmentation of the iris, periorbital tissue, eyelashes and growth of eyelashes
• Induces changes to pigmented tissues
• Increases pigmentation of the iris, periorbital tissue (eyelid) and eyelashes
• Pigmentation of the iris is likely to be permanent while pigmentation of the periorbital tissue and eyelash changes is reversible in some patients
• Inform patients about possibility of increased pigmentation
• Brown pigmentation around the pupil spreads concentrically towards the periphery of the iris and the entire iris or parts of the iris become more brownish
• Regularly examine patients with increased iris pigmentation
• Gradually change eyelashes and vellus hair in the treated eye which is reversible on discontinuation
• Macular edema, including cystoid macular edema have occurred
• Prohibit use for treatment of angle-closure, inflammatory or neovascular glaucoma
• Bacterial keratitis associated with the use of multiple-dose containers of topical ophthalmic products have occurred
• Remove contact lenses prior to instillation and reinsert 15 minutes following its administration

Use cautiously in:

• Intraocular inflammation
• Aphakic patients
• Pseudophakic patients with torn posterior lens capsule
• Macular edema

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown; As it has short half-life it is unlikely to reach the bloodstream or cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. To decrease amount of drug reaching breastmilk after using eye drops, place pressure over the tear duct by the corner of the eye for 1 minute or more followed by removing the excess solution with an absorbent tissue. It is not known whether excreted in human milk, manufacturer advises caution.
