• It may take 1 to 2 weeks of continuous therapy to achieve optimum effects in the management of allergic rhinitis. Use at regular intervals may be required for therapeutic effect
• Restrict use in patients with nasal polyps and nonallergic rhinitis
• Suspend therapy if there is no relief of symptoms obtained within 7 days of starting treatment
• Do not use to treat asthma, sinus infection, or cold symptoms
• Patients with nasal allergic symptoms considering therapy should promptly report if they have symptoms such as fever, sinus pain, discolored nasal discharge, or wheezing
• Brief stinging or sneezing may occur soon after use
• Discontinue therapy if shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, hives, swelling of the mouth or throat occurs while using this product
• For maximum benefits, patients with nasal allergy symptoms may begin therapy one week before contact with the cause of allergy and use every day while in contact

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown. Although no published data exist on the use of cromolyn during lactation, maternal milk levels are likely to be very low and it is expected to be poorly absorbed from the infant's gastrointestinal tract. An expert panel considers use of cromolyn to be acceptable during breastfeeding.
