Rectum injury-trauma grading
Rectal injuries are graded I-V with increasing severity having higher grading.
Grade I 
- Hematoma or contusion without devascularization
- Rectal laceration that is partial thickness
Grade II 
- Rectal laceration <50% of circumference
Grade III 
- Rectal laceration with
50% circumference
Grade IV 
- Rectal laceration that is full thickness with extension into the perineum
Grade V 
Note to advance one grade for multiple injuries up to grade III.
