Breastfeeding: Absorption of alendronate by a breastfed infant is unlikely as alendronate is poorly absorbed. Literature unavailable on use of alendronate during breastfeeding. Prefer an alternate drug while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. This information is based upon LactMed database.
