Answer

Answer: A."While endocarditis and pericarditis are both inflammatory processes, there are differences between them. Pericarditis occurs outside the heart in the sacs that surround the heart and endocarditis occurs in the inside of the heart. Clients can develop pericarditis after a respiratory infection or after a myocardial infarction. It is often seen with shortness of breath, a friction rub upon auscultation. The pain that occurs with pericarditis can often be relieved by sitting up and leaning forward. Endocarditis is often due to viral or fungal infections. This often leads to issues with the valves and leads to symptoms of valve disorders such as tachycardia, murmur and cardiomegaly. There are two main types of endocarditis which include rheumatic and infective."
