Noncardiac Adverse Effects of Amiodarone

In addition to adverse cardiovascular effects of amiodarone, other adverse effects include:

  • CNSmalaise, fatigue, dizziness, peripheral neuropathy, ataxia, paresthesia, tremors, headache, vision disturbances
  • Respiratorypulmonary toxicity (progressive dyspnea, cough, fever, pleuritic chest pain)

  • Otherphotosensitivity, abnormal taste and smell, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, bleeding disorders, muscle weakness.
