The top of a 12-lead ECG recording usually shows patient identification information along with the interpretation done by the machine. A rhythm strip is usually included at the bottom of the recording. Stand ardization marks Look for the stand ardization marks on the recording, normally 10 small squares high. If the patient has high voltage complexes, the marks will be half as high. Youll also notice that lead markers separate the lead recordings on the paper and that each lead is labeled. ECG tracing layout Also familiarize yourself with the order in which the leads are arranged on the ECG tracing. Getting accustomed to the layout of the tracing will help you interpret the ECG more quickly and accurately. |
