Noncardiac Adverse Effects of Quinidine

In addition to adverse cardiovascular effects of quinidine, other adverse effects include:

  • Central nervous system (CNS)anticholinergic effectsvertigo, confusion, light-headedness, depression, delirium, headache, tinnitus, hearing loss, vision disturbances
  • Respiratoryacute asthmatic attack, respiratory arrest
  • Gastrointestinal (GI)nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, anorexia, hepatotoxicity
  • Hematologichemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, anaphylaxis, or allergic reactions including rash
  • Otherphotosensitivity, angioedema.
