Investigation in Hypercalcaemia
- Full blood count
- Plasma sodium, potassium, urea and creatinine with eGFR
- Uncuffed sample for plasma calcium, phosphate, magnesium, total protein, albumin, alkaline phosphatase
- Chest X-ray
- ECG
If the cause of hypercalcaemia is not known: - Serum and urine protein electrophoresis
- Parathyroid hormone (PTH)
- Parathyroid hormone related protein (PTH related hormone is very rarely required and is offered by few laboratories)
- C-reactive protein and ESR
- Thyroid function tests
- Vitamin D (25-hydroxy vitamin D)
- Urine calcium concentration
