Criteria for Transplantation in Acute Liver Failure (ALF) (King's College Hospital)*
ALF due to paracetamol poisoning ALF due to other cause Or any three of the following features:
- Non-A, non-B viral hepatitis, drug-induced, Wilson's or indeterminate aetiology of ALF
- Time from jaundice to encephalopathy >7 days
- Age <10 or >40
- INR >3.5
- Serum bilirubin >200 micromol/L
Absolute contraindication to transplantation - AIDS
- Extrahepatic malignancy
- Advanced cardiopulmonary disease
- Cholangiocarcinoma
