Contraindications to Thrombolysis for Cerebral Infarction
- Evidence of intracerebral haemorrhage or previous intracerebral haemorrhage
- Time of onset 6h or more before treatment or evidence on the scan of established recent infarction
- Uncontrolled hypertension (above 185/110 mmHg)
- Witnessed seizure at stroke onset
- Taking warfarin with INR >1.7, or a direct-acting oral anticoagulant
- Bleeding diathesis
- Severe previous neurological disability
- Arterial puncture or bleeding at non-compressible site within last 7 days
- Within 14 days of major surgery
- Rapidly improving symptoms
