Desonide is a synthetic corticosteroid.
Desonide shares the actions of the other topical corticosteroids and is used for the relief of the inflammatory manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Topical preparations of desonide are applied sparingly in thin films and are rubbed gently into the affected area 2-4 times daily. Occlusive dressings may be used for severe or resistant dermatoses.
Desonide is a synthetic corticosteroid. The drug occurs as small plates or a white to off-white powder and is insoluble in water.
Desonide preparations should be stored in tight containers at a temperature less than 30°C; freezing should be avoided.
