Mydriasis and cycloplegia for refraction

• 1-2 gtts (2 or 5% solution) in eye(s) immediately before procedure, repeat in 5-10 minutes if necessary

Acute inflammatory conditions of the uveal tract

• 1-2 gtts (2 or 5% solution) in eye(s) bid-tid; may give 1-2 gtts q3-4 hrs if needed

Pediatric Dosing

Mydriasis and cycloplegia for refraction

• 1 gtt (2% solution) in eye(s) immediately before procedure, repeated in 10-minute intervals if necessary

Acute inflammatory conditions of the uveal tract

• 1 gtt (2% solution) in eye(s) bid-tid

• Excessive use of drug in children or susceptible individuals may produce systemic antimuscarinic effects
• Prolonged use may cause local irritation characterized by follicular conjunctivitis, vascular congestion, edema, exudate, and eczematoid dermatitis
• Advise patients to discontinue the drug and contact their physician if signs or symptoms of sensitivity or increase in irritation occurs during treatment
• Prior to initiation of therapy, determine the depth of the angle of the anterior chamber so as to prevent induction of angle-closure glaucoma in susceptible patients

Breastfeeding: Prolonged use of homatropine hydrobromide might reduce milk production, but an ophthalmic dose is unlikely to interfere with breastfeeding. • PSYCHIATRY: Psychosis, hallucinations, behavioral disturbances
• CV: Tachycardia, hypotension
• RESP: Respiratory depression
• GI: Abdominal distention in infants
