Adult Dosing
Topical ocular vasoconstrictor
- Instill 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac(s) q3-4 hrs PRN
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established

- Patients receiving MAO inhibitors may experience a severe hypertensive crisis when a sympathomimetic drug is given. In children, especially infants, this may lead to CNS depression causing coma and significant reduction in body temperature
- If relief is not obtained within 48 hrs of therapy, discontinue the drug and consult a physician
- Do not touch the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip as this could contaminate the medication and result in serious ocular infections

- Hypertension
- CV disease
- Hyperglycemia (diabetes)
- Hyperthyroidism
- Infection or injury
Supplemental Patient Information
- Advise patients to discontinue the drug and promptly consult a physician if irritation, redness or blurring persists or increases, or if symptoms of systemic absorption occur (e.g., dizziness, headache, drowsiness, reduced body temperature)
