- Therapy should be administered only by healthcare professionals well trained in intra-articular injection techniques
- Transient increases in inflammation in the injected knee manifested by pain and swelling have been reported following therapy administration in certain patients with inflammatory osteoarthritis
- Avoid concomitant use of skin disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts as they may cause precipitation of hyaluronic acid
- Allergic reactions including anaphylactoid reactions have been reported with this product
- Monitor patients carefully prior to administration to determine signs of acute inflammation
- Prior to injecting therapy, inject lidocaine SC or similar local anesthetic
- Any joint effusion present must be removed prior to injecting therapy
- Not indicated for use in joints other than the knees
- Do not use the same syringe for removing joint effusion and for injecting the therapy
- Effectiveness has not been established in treatment cycles of less than three injections; pain relief may not be observed until after the third injection

- Hypersensitivity to avian protein
- Hypersensitivity to feathers
- Hypersensitivity to egg protein

- Instruct patients to avoid any strenuous activities or prolonged weight-bearing activities such as tennis or jogging withing 48 hrs following the intra-articular injection
