• Do not touch the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip of the bottle to minimize the risk of contaminating the dropper tip and solution
• Oral administration of cysteamine has been associated with benign intracranial hypertension (or pseudotumor cerebri) which has resolved with diuretic therapy
• Concurrent oral cysteamine therapy has been associated with reports of benign intracranial hypertension
• Cysteamine contains benzalkonium chloride, which may be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Contact lenses should be removed prior to application of solution and may be reinserted 15 minutes following its administration

Breastfeeding: It is not known whether cysteamine is excreted in human milk. Because of the potential for possible serious adverse reactions in nursing infants, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
