- 10 mg PO qd, may increase to 20 mg/day, as tolerated
- Max; 20 mg/day
Note:
- Patients who can not tolerate higher doses, decrease down the dose to 5 mg/day
- Can be abruptly discontinued, although patients may experience transient adverse reactions if dose is 15-20 mg/day, to avoid adverse reactions, decrease dose to 10 mg/day for 1 week before full discontinuation
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established
