Note: Reserve for patients who cannot tolerate or refuse to take liquid or effervescent potassium preparations and there is a problem of compliance with these preparations

Use cautiously in:

Pregnancy/Breast Feeding

Pregnancy Category:C

Breastfeeding: Probably safe; normal potassium content of human milk is about 13 mEq/liter, oral potassium forms part of potassium pool in body, as long as body potassium is within limit the contribution of potassium chloride supplementation will have less or no effect on the level in human milk and will not have an adverse reaction on fetus. Manufacturer advises caution
