Adult Dosing

Eyelash hypotrichosis (Latisse)

• Once nightly, apply 1 gtt to upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes

• Do not apply to lower eyelash eyeline
• Dispose applicator after one use. Use separate applicators for each eyelid

Elevated IOP (Lumigan)

• Instill 1 drop in affected eye(s) in the evening

Pediatric Dosing

• Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established

• Hypotrichosis of the eyelashes (Latisse)
• Elevated intra-ocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (Lumigan)

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product
• Hypersensitivity to benzalkonium chloride

Renal Dose Adjustment

• Renal impairment: No dose adjustments

Hepatic Dose Adjustment

• Hepatic impairment: No dose adjustments

• Prostaglandins analogues, including bimatoprost may cause pigmentation of the iris, periorbital tissue and eyelashes. Growth of eyelashes (reversible) has also occurred. Gradual change in eye color ( i.e., increased amount of brown pigmentation in the iris) may occur
• Potential for hair growth in areas where bimatoprost may come in repeated contact with the skin surface; blot any excess drug from the eyelid margin to avoid it running onto the cheek or other skin areas
• More frequent or concurrent use of bimatoprost and IOP-lowering prostaglandin analogs may decrease the IOP-lowering effect; monitor for changes in intraocular pressure
• Macular edema, including cystoid macular edema has occurred during treatment
• Bacterial keratitis has been reported with multiple-dose containers
• Remove contact lenses prior to and 15 min following administration

Cautions: Use cautiously in

• Aphakia
• Pseudophakia with torn posterior lens capsule
• Risk of macular edema
• Intraocular inflammation (iritis/uveitis)

Pregnancy Category:C

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown, however, due to the short half-life it would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. • Prostaglandin analogue; increases aqueous humor outflow through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral routes; decreases intraocular pressure. Mechanism of hair growth is believed to be through increase in the percent of hair in, and the duration of the anagen or growth phase
• Metabolized via oxidation, n-deethylation and glucuronidation
• Renally excreted: 67%, feces: 25% [Based on data from IV route]
