• Start 16 mg PO tid; administer with food

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product
• Pheochromocytoma
• Porphyria
• Active peptic ulcer

• Intentional overdose may lead to serious pulmonary or cardiac complications and convulsions
• Monitor the therapy in patients with bronchial asthma as it may lead to development of clinical intolerance
• Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established
• Do not use in pregnancy or lactation unless clearly necessary

• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or you are breast-feeding

Breastfeeding: Safety and efficacy during lactation has not been established. As no data exists on the use of betahistine during lactation, it is unknown if betahistine is excreted in human milk. According to manufacturer's data betahistine should be used only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk

• CNS: Headache, insomnia, dizziness
• DERM: Rash, pruritis, urticaria
• GI: Nausea, dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease

• Antivertigo; acts as a histamine H1-agonist; stimulates H1-receptors on the pre-capillary sphincter in the stria vascularis of the inner ear and reduces endolymphatic pressure by improving microcirculation
• Metabolised by liver
• Excreted in urine as an inactive metabolite within 24 hours
• Half-life: 3-4 hrs
