Breastfeeding: It is not known whether loxapine is present in human milk. Loxapine and its metabolites are present in the milk of lactating dogs. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk and because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue therapy, taking in to account the importance of the drug to the mother.
