Adult Dosing
Pediculus humanus capitis infestation
- Apply lotion to dry hair (completely wet the scalp and hair), leave it in the hair for 8-12 hrs and then rinse off with water. Repeat this treatment after 7-9 days if lice are still present
Notes:- Allow hair to dry naturally after applying the lotion; keep hair uncovered
- Rinse and remove dead lice and eggs using a fine-toothed comb

- Malathion lotion is flammable; hence, should not be exposed to open flames or electric heat sources such as hair dryers and electric curlers. Do not smoke while applying lotion or while hair is wet
- If used in children, it should be used under the supervision of an adult
- Avoid contact with the eyes; flush immediately with water if accidental exposure occurs
- If skin irritation develops, discontinue the therapy until irritation subsides; if irritation reoccurs on reapplication of the lotion, consult a physician
- Therapy may cause mild stinging sensations during use
