- Inject collagenase only into the collagen cord with a MP or PIP joint contracture, avoid injecting into collagen-containing structures such as nerves, blood vessels, tendons or ligaments of the hand, as it can result in damage to those structures and possible permanent injury such as tendon rupture or ligament damage
- When injecting a cord affecting a PIP joint of the fifth finger, do not insert needle more than 2-3 mm in depth and avoid injecting more than 4 mm distal to the palmar digital crease
- Collagenase can cause ecchymosis/contusion or an injection site hemorrhage, use cautiously in patients with coagulation disorders including patients receiving concomitant anticoagulants
- Mild reaction to severe allergic reactions can occur with collagenase injection. Provide appropriate treatment immediately if anaphylaxis occurs
Cautions: Use cautiously in
- Coagulation disorders
- Concomitant anticoagulant
