Adult Dosing
Oropharyngeal Candidiasis
- One 10 mg troche (dissolve slowly) PO 5 times/daily x 7-14 consecutive days
Prophylaxis of oropharyngeal candidiasis in immunocompromised patients
- One 10 mg PO troche tid x 7-14 consecutive days
- Note: Dissolve slowly in mouth
Pediatric Dosing
- Note: Safety and effectiveness of clotrimazole in children <3 years of age has not been established

- Not recommended for the treatment of systemic mycoses including systemic candidiasis
- Diagnosis should be confirmed by KOH smear and/or culture
- Abnormal LFTs including elevated SGOT have been reported; periodically monitor liver function tests in patients with pre-existing hepatic impairment

Supplemental Patient Information
- Instruct patients to allow each troche to dissolve slowly in the mouth in order to achieve maximum effect of the medication
