Adult Dosing

Treatment of fungal infections including tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis

• CRE: Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected and surrounding skin areas qd for 2 weeks
• GEL: Gently massage into the affected and surrounding skin areas bid for 2 weeks

Note:

• Intended for topical use only
• Re-evaluate the patient after 4 weeks if there is no clinical improvement

Pediatric Dosing

• Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established

• Topical treatment of fungal infections including interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis in adult patients 18 yrs of age

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product

• Recommended for topical and external use only; not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use
• Do not apply the medication in the eyes, mouth, nose, and other mucous membranes
• Therapy may cause transient irritation, burning, or stinging
• Discontinue therapy if irritation or sensitivity develops and institute appropriate therapy

Supplemental Patient Information

• Instruct patients to avoid using occlusive dressings or wrappings unless directed by their physician
• Advise patients to wash their hands thoroughly after applying the cream or gel
• Inform patients to keep the product away from the eyes, nose, mouth and other mucous membranes
• Advise patients to discontinue therapy and promptly contact their physician if irritation or sensitivity develops following therapy use

Pregnancy Category:B

Breastfeeding: No data available regarding the use of topical naftifine during lactation. It is indicated that only 4-6% of the drug is absorbed and very little amount is expected to be excreted into breast milk. Topical application of the cream or gel to the nipple area should be avoided.
