- When any local anesthetic is used, resuscitative equipment and drugs should be immediately available
- Use therapy with correct technique, adequate precautions, and readiness for emergencies for the better safety and effectiveness
- To avoid high plasma levels and serious adverse effects always use the lowest dosage that results in effective anesthesia
- Reduction of doses is recommended in debilitated, elderly patients, acutely ill patients, and children considering their age and physical status
- Use with caution in patients with severely traumatized mucosa and sepsis in the region of the proposed application and in patients with known drug sensitivities

- Traumatized mucosa
- Severe local infection
- Cholinesterase deficiency
- Angina
- Local inflammation
- Hyperthyroidism
- Seizure disorder
- Arrhythmias
- Cardiac disease
- Elderly or debilitated patients
- Pediatric patients
