Seasonal allergic rhinitis
Note:
- Before initial use, prime the nasal spray by releasing 5 sprays or until a fine mist appears. If not used for >7 days, re-prime by releasing 2 sprays
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients <6 yrs of age have not been established
Seasonal allergic rhinitis
- 6-11 yrs: 1 spray per nostril bid
12 yrs: 2 sprays per nostril bid

- In placebo-controlled clinical trials of 2 weeks to 12 months duration, epistaxis and nasal ulcerations have been reported
- Perform nasal examination to rule out other nasal diseases before initiating therapy; examine periodically for evidence of adverse effects on the nasal mucosa and consider discontinuing its use if patients develop nasal ulcerations
- Somnolence has been reported in certain patients using olopatadine nasal spray. Advise patients to refrain from performing hazardous tasks requiring complete mental alertness and motor coordination such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery
- Concurrent use of olopatadine nasal spray with alcohol or other CNS depressants may cause additional reductions in alertness and impairment of CNS performance

Pregnancy Category:C
Breastfeeding: As per manufacturer's data, olopatadine nasal spray should be used by nursing mothers only if the potential benefit to the patient outweighs the potential risks to the infant.
