Adult Dosing
Estimation of effective renal plasma flow (ERPF)
- Initial dose 6-10 mg/kg IV and infusion dose 10-24 mg/minute
- Optimal serum concentration is 2 mg per 100 ml
Measurement of the functional capacity of the renal tubular secretory mechanism
- Initial dose 6-10 mg/kg IV and infusion dose 10-24 mg/minute
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patient have not been established
- Administer IV Slowly as adverse reactions may occur
- Caution in patient with low cardiac reserve or it may precipitate CHF
- Use small doses of aminohippurate to measure ERPF
- Concomitant use of probenecid, procaine, sulfonamides or thiazolsulfone can compromise results
- To measure TmPAH during research procedure, IV administration should be slow and with cautious

- Latex-sensitive individuals
- Patient with low cardiac reserve
