Pregnancy Category:B

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown. Limited information indicates that lepirudin doses lteq.gif 100 mg/day produce very low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse events in breastfed infants, especially if the infant is older than 2 months. This information is based upon LactMed database (available at http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT last accessed 10 February 2011). Manufacturer recommends discontinuation of breastfeeding, or postponing of treatment (taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother).
