• Therapy may cause rectal discomfort or a burning sensation
• If the patient experiences rectal bleeding or fails to have a bowel movement after the laxative use, discontinue use and consult a physician
• Pregnant women or lactating mothers should consult their physician before use
• Advise patients not to use laxatives if they have abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting
• Prior to use, advise patients to discuss if they have observed a sudden change in bowel habits that persist for over 2 weeks
• Do not use other laxatives concomitantly unless prescribed by the physician
