Notes
- Safety and efficacy of cream 0.1% in pediatric patients for >3 wks of use have not been established
- Avoid occlusive dressings
- Avoid using in diaper area of small children

- Reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression, manifestations of Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, and glucosuria have occurred in some patients following systemic; avoid application of more potent steroids over large surface areas during prolonged use and addition of occlusive dressings, as these may augment systemic absorption. Periodically evaluate patients for evidence of HPA axis suppression by performing the urinary free cortisol and ACTH stimulation tests. Also, assess for impairment of internal homeostasis
- On occurrence of HPA axis suppression or elevation of the body temperature, make attempt to withdraw the drug, to reduce the frequency of application, or substitute with a less potent steroid or use a sequential approach while utilizing the occlusive technique
- Contact between drug and latex products (condoms or diaphragm) may reduce latex effectiveness
- Not for vaginal use
- Provide supplemental systemic corticosteroids on occurrence of withdrawal symptoms
- Pediatric patients are more prone to systemic toxicity
- Discontinue therapy on occurrence of irritation or hypersensitivity and provide appropriate therapy
- Institute appropriate antifungal or antibacterial agent for the treatment of dermatological infections. Discontinue use of corticosteroid if a favorable response does not occur promptly until attaining control over the infection
