Adult Dosing
Cancer chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
- 2 mg PO qd, alt: 1 mg PO bid
- 2 mg PO qd regimen: Two 1 mg tablets or 10 mL solution up to 1 hr before chemotherapy
- 1 mg PO bid regimen: First dose (1 mg tablet or 5 mL solution) up to 1 hr before the therapy and the second dose (1 mg tablet or 5 mL solution) 12 hrs later
Radiation-induced nausea and vomiting
- 2 mg PO qd regimen: Two 1 mg tablet or 10 mL solution within 1 hr of radiation
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established

- Granisetron hydrochloride does not stimulate gastric or intestinal peristalsis; may mask progressive ileus and/or gastric distension in patients with abdominal surgery or those with chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
- Patients with cardiac disease, concomitant cardio-toxic chemotherapy or electrolyte abnormalities are at increased risk of QT prolongation
Cautions: Use cautiously in
- Pre-existing arrhythmias or cardiac conduction disorders
- Concurrent QT prolonging agents
