Adult Dosing
Prophylaxis, angioedema attacks in HAE (Cinryze)
- 1000 units IV at a rate of 1 mL/min q3-4 days
- Onset within 1 hr, peak approx 12 hrs, duration 3-4 days
Reconstitution
- Reconstitute 500 units vials with 5 mL of sterile water for injection. Two vials of reconstituted drug are required to make a single dose
Acute therapy of abdominal or facial angioedema (Berinert)
Reconstitution
- 500 units lyophilized concentrate in a single-use vial for reconstitution with 10 mL of diluent (sterile water)
Pediatric Dosing

- Adolescents: 1000 units IV at a rate of 1 mL/min q3-4 days
- Onset within 1 hr, peak approx 12 hrs, duration 3-4 days

- Hypersensitivity reactions including urticaria, appearance of hives, tightness of chest, wheezing and hypotension may occur. Discontinue treatment and give epinephrine immediately for acute reactions
- Thrombotic events have occurred in patients receiving C1 inhibitor when used at off-label high doses; monitor patients with known history of risk factors for thrombotic events
- Risk of transmitting infectious agents (eg viruses), including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease
- In patients with known tendency towards allergies, administer antihistamines and corticosteroids prophylactically

- Pediatric population (safety in children, infants or neonates not established)
- Caution advised during use with multiple medications
