• Greater than 4 years: 0.5 mL NEB q3-4h

Croup [Non-FDA Approved]

• Using 2.25% solution, 0.05 mL/kg/dose up to a maximum dose of 0.5 mL/dose diluted to 3 mL with 0.9% saline. Given via nebulizer over 15 min PRN but not more frequently than q1-2 hr
• It is important to note that nebulized epinephrine may need to be administered significantly more frequently than the recommended intervals in severe/critical cases

• Monitor patient's respiratory status during each treatment. If bronchospasm worsens during a treatment, discontinue the treatment
• Administer drug with caution as syncope has occurred in asthmatic children
• Do not use when maternal BP exceeds 130/80 mm Hg because it may delay second stage or induce uterine atony
• During therapy tissue necrosis may develop if extravasation occurs
• Therapy may cause fatalities because of peripheral constriction or cardiac stimulation
• Excessive use may lead to tolerance and paradoxical bronchospasm

• Cardiac disease (angina, tachycardia, MI)
• Hypertension
• Hyperthyroidism
• Diabetes
• Cerebral arteriosclerosis
• Elderly patients
