• Ophthalmic use only, not for oral or injection use
• Should not be used to treat contact lens irritation
• Instruct the patient not to wear contact lenses if the eye is red
• Patients who wear soft contact lenses and whose eyes are not red should be instructed to wait at least ten minutes after administration of the drug before they insert their contact lenses
• Symptomatic response to therapy may occur within a few days but frequently requires longer treatment for up to four weeks

Supplemental Patient Information

• Do not touch the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip
• Do not wear contact lenses if the eye is read
• Wait for at least ten minutes after administration of drug before inserting contact lenses

Breastfeeding: Safety unknown; excreted in very low levels in maternal milk after ophthalmic application. According to manufacturer's data, pemirolast is excreted in breast milk, manufacturer recommends caution while administering nursing mothers.
