• Immediate-release: 650-1000 mg PO q4 hrs PRN [Maximum: 4000 mg/day; Tylenol extra strength: 3000 mg/day]
• Extended-release: 2 capsules (1300 mg) PO q8 hrs PRN

• Immediate-release: 325-1000 mg PO q4-6 hrs PRN, or 500 mg PO q8 hrs PRN (max 4 g/day;Tylenol extra strength: 3 g/day)
• Extended-release: 2 capsules (1300 mg) PO q8 hrs PRN

Renal Dose Adjustment (Based on CrCl)

• 10-50 mL/min: give q6 hrs
• < 10 (mL/min): give q8 hrs

Hepatic Dose Adjustment

• Hepatic impairment: Use with caution; consider decreasing the dose and extending the dosing interval

• Overdosage may cause liver damage; severe liver damage has occurred when recommended dosages were exceeded/concomitant use with other drugs containing acetaminophen/having 3 or more alcoholic drinks per day while continuing therapy. Avoid concomitant use with any other drug containing acetaminophen
• If overdose is suspected, seek medical attention or contact a poison control center right away. Medical attention is critical for patients even if signs or symptoms of overdosage are not apparent
• Avoid use in patients having difficulty in swallowing large tablets or capsules
• Avoid use in patients allergic to acetaminophen or any of the inactive ingredients in this product
• Evaluate patients for the presence of liver disease and concomitant use of warfarin

Breastfeeding: Safe; Good choice for analgesia and fever reduction in nursing mothers. Amounts excreted in milk are much less than doses usually given to infants. Adverse effects in breastfed infants appear to be rare.
