Adults and Children >12 yrs

• 2 suppositories (325 mg) q4-6 hrs while symptoms persist
• Note: Do not exceed 12 suppositories in any 24-hour period

Adults and children >12 yrs (650mg)

• 1 suppository (650 mg) q4-6 hrs while symptoms persist
• Note: Do not exceed 6 suppositories in any 24-hour period

Pediatric Dosing

• 1 suppository (80 mg) q6 hrs while symptoms persist

Hepatic Dose Adjustment

• Hepatic impairment: Use with caution; consider decreasing the dose and extending the dosing interval

• Therapy may cause severe liver damage in children recommended dose is exceeded or if given with other drugs containing acetaminophen

• Analgesic, antipyretic; increases the pain threshold by inhibiting both isoforms of cyclooxygenase, COX-1 and COX-2, enzymes involved in prostaglandin (PG) synthesis, reduces fever through direct action on hypothalamic heat-regulating center
• Rapid and almost complete absorption
• Metabolized by liver; CYP450: 2E1, 1A2, 2D6
• Excreted in urine (5-10% unchanged)
• Half-life: 1-4 hrs
