Warnings/Precautions

Pregnancy/Breast Feeding

Pregnancy Category:B

Breastfeeding: No published information exists regarding lodoxamide use during lactation. However, levels in breast milk are likely to be low with the use of eye drops. To reduce the amount of drug that reaches the breast milk after using eye drops, place pressure over the tear duct by the corner of the eye for about 1 min and remove the excess with an absorbent tissue. This information is based upon LactMed database (available at http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT last accessed 16 May 2011). As many drugs are excreted in human milk, manufacturer advises caution.
