• Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of muscle spasm associated with acute painful musculoskeletal conditions. Should only be used for acute treatment periods for up to two or three weeks

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredient of the product
• Acute intermittent porphyria
• Suspected porphyria
• Hypersensitivity to felbamate
• Hypersensitivity to meprobamate

• Carisoprodol has sedative properties. It may impair mental and physical abilities required for performance of potentially hazardous tasks such as driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery
• Cases of dependence, withdrawal, and abuse have been reported with prolonged use. Do not withdraw abruptly. Use w/ caution in addiction prone patients and in patients taking other CNS depressants
• Monitor for the signs of idiosyncratic reactions. These reactions may appear within minutes or hours of first dose. Symptoms usually subside over several hours. If such reactions occur, withhold drug

Breastfeeding: Excreted in breast milk. Slight sedation may occur in breastfed newborn infants. Sedation might be more pronounced in newborns who are exposed for the first time during nursing. Other agents may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant, or if other sedation causing drugs are used simultaneously. • CNS: Drowsiness, dizziness, headache; vertigo, agitation, irritability, ataxia, tremor, depression, syncope, insomnia, seizures (post marketing)
• CV: Tachycardia, postural hypotension, facial flushing (post marketing)
• GI: Epigastric discomfort, nausea, vomiting (post marketing)
• HEMA: Leukopenia, pancytopenia (post marketing)
• DERM: Erythema multiforme
• MISC: Dependency, abuse, withdrawl if abrupt cessation, angioneurotic edema, anaphylactoid shock

• Centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant; Mechanism of action: Centrally-acting muscle relaxant
• Metabolized by liver to active metabolite meprobamate; CYP450: 2C19 substrate
• Primarily renally excreted (< 1% unchanged)
• Half-life: 2 hrs (parent drug); 10 hrs (meprobamate)
