Fecal impaction, occasional constipation, removal of residue after barium administration
- 1 Bottle (118 mL) rectally daily PRN
- Max: 118 mL/day
- Consider removing orange protective shield before inserting
- Patient should lie on left side with right knee bent and arms resting comfortably or kneel the lower head and chest forward until left side of face is resting on surface with left arm folded comfortably
- Squeeze bottle to deliver all contents in bottle
- Do not force enema tip into rectum as it can cause injury
- Insert enema tip into rectum by slight side-to-side movement; point toward naval
