Adult Dosing
Hereditary angioedema (HAE)
- Adults < 84 kg body weight : 50 IU/kg To obtain the concentration of 150 IU/mL, use the following formula:Volume (mL) to be administered = [body weight (kg) x 50 IU/kg] / 150 IU/mL = body weight (kg)/3
- Adults
84 kg body weight : 4200 IU (2 vials) To obtain the concentration of 150 IU/mL:Volume (mL) to be administered = 28 mL
Note- The recommended dose is 50 IU/kg body weight with a maximum of 4200 IU
- Dose should be administered as a slow IV injection over approximately 5 minutes
- If the attack symptoms persist, an additional (second) dose can be administered at the recommended dose level. Do not exceed 4200 IU/dose
- No more than 2 doses should be administered within 24 hours
- Refer package insert for reconstitution, preparation, and handling
