GDS-5/15 Geriatric Depression Scale

GDS-5 score of 2 or more indicates possible depression (Hoyl et al., 1999); ask remaining 10 questions.

GDS-15 score of 5-9 indicates possible depression; scores above 9 usually indicate depression (Sheikh & Yesavage, 1986).
