Blood Pressure Assessment for Children

A child’s blood pressure should be assessed with a cuff that covers 2/3 the distance from the shoulder to the elbow. A cuff that is too small will result in a false high reading. A cuff that is too large will result in a false low reading. If a perfect-sized cuff is not available, it is better to use a cuff slightly too large than too small.
